^ This was a proposal picture for a planned Israeli club that electrically only runs on the kinetic energy of the people dancing. How dope is that???? Anyway, I’m happy to announce a new side-project I just started working on – a site dedicated to providing you party music in the quickest and most convenient method possible. Check out PartyMuzik as it will be updated daily! Here are the first ten songs posted on it to pique your interest:
1) Chris Brown f. Benny Benassi – Beautiful People (Disco Fries Remix)
Straight out the muthafuckin slums dungeons* of rap. British Columbia what’s good? This dude is a huge clown, but does a ton of research for each interview and gives the artists gifts that usually leaves them stunned and gets them talking about their past. I’ve only watched his interviews with rappers and he has at least a dozen worth watching. This one especially is hilarious because Curren$y is such a clown in juxtaposition to his ultra-serious mic persona.
As cool as EZ really is. I will bet my entire life savings on Soundgarden providing a better live show. Hands down, rock shows are the top-tier of live performance music. Cannot be matched. Read the rest of this entry ?
Pitchfork is streaming a documentary about the rise of “electro” music on the internet and in life in the past few years. There are tons of names in this, including Steve Aoki, Laidback Luke, A-Trak, Diplo, Lil’ Jon, LMFAO and much more. I only caught the first ten minutes or so because my computer’s being rell frail, but from what I can tell it’s about the current role of electro in the rising EDM movement and now the mainstream and I’m sure tons of insight about its history and future. Apparently a sequel is already in the works about the all-encompassing house scene. This was supposed to have only been streaming until this past Wednesday but it’s still up, so catch it while you can.
It is so fucking dope seeing De La Soul getting recognition. Allhiphop broke the news earlier today about how De La Soul’s “Eye Know” will be preserved by the Library of Congress.
So it is a beautiful day in New York today. Got me thinking about some future concerts coming up. Slightly Stoopid is finishing off their winter tour. Queens of the Stone Age is hitting the road playing their entire self-title debut album. Atmosphere is ready to tear it up with Ant being accompanied by a live band. Soundgarden is writing new material meaning a tour will eventually come out of it. Chris Cornell is touring tho, therefore you can get your “Outshine” fix on. Lupe Fiasco is playing some sick shows. I’ll be going to all the New York shows, but for those not in new york here are some links to see if anyone is coming to a town near you. I almost forgot, the Deftones will be ripping heads out in the near future as well.
Sad day in the world of baseball. Andy Pettitte has retired. Before I continue, there is still a chance he could return after the all-star break next year after he testifies against Clemens. I hope he does because who wouldn’t want a pitcher with the MOST wins all time in the playoffs back on their team. And before the haters start to say “he did it while cheating”, you think Andy was cheating when he closed out every series in the 2009 playoffs, including the World Series and literally was one bad pitch away from beating Cliff Lee and the Rangers in 2010?
“Beats, Rhymes & Life: The Travels of A Tribe Called Quest is premiering at The Sundance Film Festival this weekend. Peanut Butter Wolf is the music supervisor of the film, Madlib has created original music for the score. The film is directed by Michael Rapaport.”
I am:
97% psyched that this exists.
1% disappointed by PBW (?) being the music supervisor. You’re not J. Dilla buddy. Stop trying.
1% redeemed that PBW is only the music supervisor and Madlib is actually creating the score.
1% weirded out in a way that Michael Rapaport did this. Though anybody involved in True Romance pretty much has a lifetime pass.
Jeeesus, they’re really swinging for the fences on this one, huh? They’re even going for the EDM crowd with Afrojack/Axwell/Duck Sauce/Chemical Brothers/PvD etc…. Westcoasters, do the damn thang. April 15th-17th. Tagged the artists I would personally most like to see.
